Duration 2 years, full-time, with potential renewal
Start Date Flexible (earliest: tomorrow)
About the Role
The Laboratory of Applied and Theoretical Neuroanatomy, led by Dr. Roberto Toro at Institut Pasteur, is hiring a postdoctoral researcher to construct a multimodal, multi-scale atlas of brain folding development. This role is part of the ERC Synergy project Unfold, which integrates expertise in cellular, molecular, and mechanical processes to uncover the mechanisms of brain folding.
- Develop a comprehensive developmental atlas of ferret brain folding.
- Integrate diverse data modalities, including histology, transcription, tissue mechanics, MRI, and polarised light microscopy.
- Collaborate within a vibrant and interdisciplinary research team in Paris and internationally.
- Neuroscientist with a quantitative background (physics, applied mathematics, engineering).
- Expertise in computational neuroanatomy, neuroimaging, multimodal data integration, computational tools for mesh processing, and strong programming skills (Python, JavaScript).
- Passion for understanding brain development, data visualisation and open-science.
- A collaborative and innovative research environment at Institut Pasteur.
- Access to state-of-the-art facilities and international collaborations.
- A vibrant scientific community in one of Europe's most exciting cities.
